Confess Your Sins

Found these at school. I love this kind of thing. And there's a stamp on it, so it's real! This little project is reminiscent of another project last semester that my classmate Steven and I were obsessed with: Take My Scars.

We found the Take My Scars flyer at school, and it had a photo of Neve Campbell from The Craft. It was an advice hotline. With Neve Campbell, and references to The Craft, there's no way that we weren't calling.

So, we called quite often. They gave really good advice - and they had a self esteem advisor too. Sometimes, late at night when we were at school, we called to get encouragement from them to keep going. They were good. Where are they now? I need them.

Right On

From my favorite blog Yimmy's Yayo:

Style is not defined by fashion.

What brand of jacket you’re wearing, how much you spent on those shoes, how obscure you’re take on dress is; are over emphasised these days.

The idea of ‘Style’ is being obscured and diluted. How one carries oneself, how one communicates, thinks and behaves are overlooked. I’ve seen a kid wearing under $100 in total (Hanes, basics, boots et al.) have abundantly more style than some ‘fashionistas’ milling around outside fashion shows.

Fashion/clothing is not being completely negated here, only pulled back to an equal stance, alongside the aforementioned factors.

Style is who, what and how you are. Style is confidence, presence and impression. Not exclusively what you’re wearing.

George Petty Pin-up Drawings

Some of George Petty's drawings from the 1960s. He's so good at rendering clothing and the female figure. But who cares about any of that. These are the cutest drawings ever. I want to be one of these drawings.

More Louis Wain

I can't get enough of his drawings. There's so much life, so much energy in each of these. Sometimes, when I look at Louis Wain artwork, I just want to stand up and dance. And I'm not even a cat person!

Thom Browne A/W 2011: Bulbousness

Really liking the bulbous silhouettes and the mixing of prints in these looks.
